My name is Olufunke Alawode. I am a mother of two energetic and adventurous boys who are growing up so fast. They are exposed to people
and places(including the media) on a daily basis.
In as much as i
try to protect them from any form of negative influence, I and my
husband discovered that the best solution is to provide positive
influence to fill up their young minds and make them the best amongst
their peers.
I always recommend that children should attend the
best possible school within the income of parents. But after school,
what happens?School is just 8 hours of learning at most. During the holidays, what are your children actively engaged in?
TV
for example is not bad but when it is continuously used to teach
children violence and insubordination as seen on many cartoon channels,
it becomes a weapon of decay.
One of the major goal of this blog is to
actively develop ways to enhance academic performance of children, help
them discover or develop talents already discovered by parents while
grooming them into well cultured, responsible and charming teenagers.
So I am going to be expecting participation from parents all over the world.
I am dedicating this first post to all children in war zones worldwide including North East Nigeria. Yours and mine may still have need for more luxury and comfort but these ones are going through a situation which arose out of no fault of theirs. In Borno for example, the GSM service is disconnected so most parents cannot make phone calls not to talk of accessing the internet to read this.
These children have gone through what no child should have to endure. Please say a prayer for them today. See you soon as i am about to step into a meeting.
