Daily Tips For Your Child To Get The Best From The New Academic Year

1.       Make sure your child sleeps for at least 8 hours every day. For growing minds, a good sleep is important for rejuvenation. Lack of good sleep will only lead to a fidgety, uneasy and sleepy child in class.
2.       Ensure that your child’s room is airy and cluster free. Please note that not all nightmares are a spiritual attack. Too much cluster in a bedroom can lead to children having nightmares.
3.       Make sure your child goes through proper grooming every morning and night; a bath, brushing , combing and brushing of hair, proper dressing  e.t.c

4.       Your child should eat breakfast before leaving for school. The brain needs glucose for optimal function and glucose can only be gotten from food. Without adequate glucose, your child’s mental alertness which is necessary for assimilation will be minimal. Exercise also helps mental alertness as it increases the flow of oxygen to the brain.

1.       Always take an interesting route to school especially when your child is still in preschool. If there is more than a route, you can alternate as often as you can. This exposes your child to various scenes which will eventually aid communication, composition and creativity in school.
2.       Make sure your child has everything needed for school; water, food, stationery e.t.c. You can give fruits to your child in place of snacks which are only loaded with artificial sugar and contain very minimal nutrients.
3.       If your child is gloomy in the mornings, have a heart to heart talk with your child to find out why and do all you can to make your child happy and enthusiastic about going to school. Speaking positive words can help remedy the situation and you can also play music in the vehicle while you drive down to school.
4.       Ensure you develop a good relationship with your child’s teacher. Team up with your child’s teacher; don’t see him/her as a rival. You will get more results when you successfully work with your child’s teacher.
5.       Once your child is home, assist your child with his/her homework and also help your child apply what has been taught in school to solving problems he may encounter on a day to day basis.
6.       Lastly, create a comfortable place where your child can read and study. Let your child have easy access to books and developmental materials.
