The aim of this serial is not only to help parents find good schools but also to encourage people with similar visions to believe. Read the short history of how the school started in 2004 and has become what it is today after the cut. More Pictures after the cut too.
Temple Preparatory School opened in September 2004 with 7 children.
The school is located in the serene environment of Ilupeju on the Lagos
mainland. Temple Preparatory School runs the National Curriculum for
England and Wales.
The Preschool serves the needs of the children
between the ages of 3 months and 4 years. The Infant school caters to
the children in the Foundation stage (Reception) and Key Stage 1 i.e.
Years 1 and 2. At the end of this Key Stage, the children sit the
English National Curriculum Standard Attainment Tests. While that is
under review by the U.K. government, the children are prepared for the
Cambridge Primary Years Exams coordinated by the British Council.
By the end of June 2006, the number of children had
grown and the existing structure could not accommodate the children.
The surge in population warranted the building of extra classroom blocks
in the school compound. When the school re-opened on September 2008, the
number on roll was more than 300. Extra classrooms had to be added to
the building to take care of the new intakes.
By September 2009, Temple
Secondary School was established.
