Greensprings Schools’ history dates back to January 1985 when it started off as a Montessori school offering nursery education to children aged 2-5 years. Since then, the school has grown remarkably, and is today a leading institution offering a first class education from the foundation stage to post secondary levels. .

The first campus was situated in the heart of the Lagos mainland, with an initial student body of 3 pupils.  Greensprings has now established a state of the art campus on the Lekki Peninsula and has combined student strength of over 2,500.

Greensprings has been entirely self-supporting since inception. There is a Board of Governors, which, as well as guiding the overall direction and strategic running of the school, oversees the work of the Director of Education and the School Director.

Greensprings School is an independent, non-partisan, day and boarding school for boys and girls from 18months - 18years. They encourage students to be lifelong learners by instilling in them great confidence, respect and a consciousness of the needs of society.

Greensprings School began in 1985 in the heart of Anthony Village, Lagos. Today, another state of the art campus has been established on the Lekki Peninsula in Lagos. The Greensprings Community places great value on character and moral education as well on academics achievements. The unique education ensures that boys and girls learn in the words of our school song.

The school is goal-oriented and strive for continous improvement in teaching and learning. There is a conducive and productive learning environment that suits a range of abilities and learning styles. They value academic success, and also encourage talents of all kinds whether in the arts, drama, music or sports. Their view is that a kind, respectful and helpful pupil, who has a positive attitude to school life and fellow pupils, is every bit as worthwhile as the brilliant scholar, artist or athlete.

Greensprings prides itself on the quality and breadth of its educational experience and the commitment of its remarkable mix of gifted and dedicated professionals. The teachers are innovative, passionate and contribute effectively to the wider life of the Greensprings School Community. The teachers in partnership with parents provide individual attention that every pupil need "to spring up to the highest clouds above in every aspect of their lives".

The seed of the lifelong experience that develops among students and faculty extends beyond graduation and germinates into the Greensprings Alumni. The alumni remain active in the life of the school community as mentors and coaches, leaving their footprints in the sands of time.

The Lekki Campus of Greensprings School opened in 2005 and is purpose-built to meet the ever-changing needs of 21st century education. The campus has over 1400 pupils from pre-school age through to Diploma students (2 yrs – 18 yrs). Great boarding facilities cater for approximately 400 students – mostly of secondary school age - in a caring environment, complete with health clinic which is open 24/7.

Lying some 45 km to the east of Lagos along the Lekki/Epe expressway, the campus boasts light and spacious classrooms, science labs, specialist teaching rooms for art, music and Life Science as well as a swimming pool, athletics track, basketball courts, football pitches and tennis courts – all set in secure, beautiful, landscaped grounds that are the envy of all who visit.

Mrs Lai Koiki pictured above is the owner and director of Greenspring Schools. She has these to say:

Our goal is to develop world-class students equipped with the knowledge and skills to function productively anywhere in the world.  This we achieve, not only through the use of best practices, state of the art, up to-date technology and purpose-built infrastructure, but especially through our body of experienced and dedicated staff who work as a team to create an effective learning environment and a happy community.

We believe that offering a progressive education gives parents and pupils’ stability and continuity, removing the anguish of having to change schools periodically

At Greensprings, we hope to ensure that each child will find some aspect of school life from which he or she will derive a sense of achievement., so that when the time comes to move on to the next stage of education, our pupils will not only have discovered and developed their talents, but will take with them into the future the great gifts of confidence and self-esteem.

We look at our history with pride and affection but we also look forward with eager anticipation to the challenge of meeting the educational needs of children growing up in the global village of the 21st century.

Parents who desire this quality of education for their children are welcome to visit the school. We look forward to meeting and working with you to provide the best possible education for your child.
